Welcome to the Cardiac MRI Essentials Course, I hope you’ll enjoy it and find it useful.
This course is conducted using a simple approach that aims to reach as many colleagues from diNerent sub specialities as possible.
In contrary to other courses which start at the deep end of physics and technical aspects, this course will give a brief introduction of the basic physics at the beginning.
This will include acquisition of diNerent sequences such as maps, inversion recoveries, among others. The physics side of cardiac imaging will be discussed and embedded within diNerent contexts and cases to approach this diNicult field with ease.
The course will also discusses oNline analysis on one of the work stations through a detailed explanation of how to use most workstations.
The introduction lectures are meant to discuss diNerent cardiac views as well as some
artifacts.
The commonest world wide cause of death is coronary artery diseases, which is why the course includes reporting viability studies, performing stress MRI as well as the role of MRI in acute and chronic ischemic heart diseases. There are series of lectures provide a clear algorithm to approach diNerent cardiomyopathies and pathologies as well as demonstrate the appearances in the common diseases.
The course will be frequently updated by adding up to date lectures. Lectures on aortic imaging , common and complex congenital heart defects will be added at a future date.
This course also aims to share and widely disseminate the knowledge of MRI in the medical community to address the widely expanding role of MRI in managing heart pathologies.
